Tips for a signup form that works

Consider dropping the name field entirely — email-only signup forms convert best of all.
Say what people are signing up for and how often you’ll send — "Monthly product news, no spam" beats a bare "Subscribe".
If you send marketing email to EU residents, you need consent you can prove — keep a record of when and where each address signed up.

Questions

Does this work with Mailchimp or similar services?

Yes — most email services accept posts from your own HTML form. Set the form’s action to the endpoint from your provider’s "embedded form" settings and match the field name attributes they expect.

Should signup be double opt-in?

It’s good practice and required in some countries: the service sends a confirmation link before the address joins your list. That part is handled by your email provider, not the form.
